Talking Pictures
At the end of a talk (either in person or virtual) I’ll often ask participants to share an image or slide that truly resonated for them; they don’t have to explain why but often they do. In all the time that I’ve been doing this I’ve never had anyone chose the same image. In my mind, this shows how we all respond to different stimulus and how we’re all at different stages in life. We each have a story, a path and a journey which is what ultimately connects us but it’s also what makes us all unique and life so interesting.
Through out my own life – a quote, a piece of art, a book, a snippet of a conversation, a scene in a movie have often come along just when I needed to see, hear or experience it the most. It’s what I hope when delivering my talks to corporates, universities, schools or communities; that they are a tipping point, a conversation starter, a compass reset and a lightning rod for positive change.
I call it “Flicking Switches with Pictures.”
