Harvey the Boy who couldn’t Fart
Written and illustrated by Matthew Johnstone
This was my first foray into kid’s books and why not go off with a bang … or a popponoff?!! I quietly think it’s funny that I’ve gone from stigma to stinkma.
When I was a kid I used to make a fart machine out of wire, a washer and two rubber bands. That silly little toy gave my friends and I hours of mischievious chuckles. So I decided to create a book around the ‘Fart Machine’ probably much to the scorn of many a parent but name a child who doesn’t get a laugh out of some backfiring antics. I am a true believer we need as many laughs as possible in this life. Parp Parp!!!!
PS I have had some feed back that the Fart Machine that comes with the book doesn’t work so well – the reason for this (much to my disappointment) was because the washer is made out of rubber and not metal. The publisher needed to protect itself from legal ramifications incase someone got their finger pinged while winding up the metal washer. Not that you heard from me but if you put sturdier rubber bands and a metal washer about the size of a 10 cent piece it will work treat.
